Printing on Project Life Cards

Hello! Many of you have asked how to print on your Project Life cards, so I thought I would provide you with a step-by-step tutorial.

You only need a few supplies:

Journaling Cards

Clear Ruler

Temporary Adhesive

Computer

Printer

Step 1: Open your word processor. I like to create Text Boxes. I know that my cards are 3×4” in size, so I create a 3×4” Text Box. I add a light gray border around it so that it is easy for me to envision the journaling card.

Step 2: Measure the area that you wish to print on. On the “Here & Now” card, I wanted to print above and below the image, so I created 2 Text Boxes within my 3×4” Text Box. On the “#THISISNOW” card, I only had one area to measure and create a Text Box for. Once again, I created a border around the text box so that I can see where the area is that I am typing in.

Step 3: Type your journaling in the Text Boxes. Here you can change the style and size of fonts.

Step 4: Delete the borders from around the Text Boxes. You will only see the typed journaling.

Step 5: Print on a normal piece of printer paper.

Step 6: For this step, I use a lightbox. If you do not have one, you can also use the sunlight coming in through a window. Position your journaling cards over the typed areas on the printer paper. Use repositionable adhesive to adhere the journaling cards over where you want to print.

Step 7: I find that my printer works better if I feed the paper with the journaling cards from the Rear Tray. This requires me to change the settings on my computer, as shown below.

Here are my finished journaling cards! They are ready to slip into my Project Life album or adhere to my layouts!
